Scaredy Cats (Barbara Bottner)

The Scaredy Cats are frightened of everything! They don't open packages, they don't get dressed, they do hardly anything. If they wake up the baby, she might jump out at them! If they open the curtains, the sun might hurt their eyes! Then, little Baby Scaredy Cat realizes that it's wimpy and silly to be scared of everything. The cats need to take risks, or all they will do is sit around, scared and upset. This funny book by Barbara Bottner is great for little kids. And the pictures are great, too. The emotion in the cats' faces says it all, and mixed with the writing, gives it a perfect, unique look that will catch anybody's eye. Some of Barbara Bottner's other hilarious books include: "Bootsie Barker Bites," "Charlene Loves to Make Noise," "Be Brown!" and "Marsha is Only a Flower," which is illustrated by Denise Brunkus, the woman who illustrated the spectacular "Junie B. Jones" series. I think littler children would like this book read to them, and older children can read it to themselves, so I recommend this book for children ages 2-7.
