Franny is, well, let's just say she is different. She loves her room dark and gloomy, and bats just follow her around wherever she goes. Franny eats casseroles, and shish kebobs for lunch, and she does experiments. All of Franny's classmates are scared of her. Franny feels like the only person who truly respects her for who she is is her teacher Miss Shelley. Franny adores Miss Shelley. One day, Miss Shelley asks Frannny to stay after school. She says that she worries about her. That she wonders if she is ever lonely. Then, Franny gets a magnificent idea; she is going to do an experiment. She is going to try to be normal. But later at school, a horrible monster (made out of lunch!) gets Miss Shelley! Franny needs to save her! But will she be to embarrassed to change back to her real self? Other books in this series include: Attack of The 50-FT Cupid, The Invisible Fran, and The Fran That Time Forgot. I really enjoyed the way Jim Benton writes in this book. It is a great mix of comedy and action. I also love the pictures in this book. They are very animated. My 7-year-old brother Luke enjoyed this book just as much as I did, and I am 9 years old. So I am going to recommend this book for ages 7-10.

Hey Grace - I wish I'd had these reviews when my kids were younger. Great blog, and congrats on being published in the newspaper as well!
BTW, I LOVED Mrs Piggle-Wiggle when I was a kid. Especially the aprt about the potatoes in the ears and sitting upside down on the ceiling.
